The chain of survival - all of the people involved in the emergency response process - is long. It all starts with that basic call for help to 911. Using complex data created by E-911 Coordinator Lisa Regan Roark, call information is routed to an emergency services dispatcher at a public safety answering point. Often there is just one dispatcher on duty - their ability to multi-task, remember, and communicate key details about multiple critical incidents under very stressful conditions is a unique talent. Battalion One firefighters Landon Boudreaux, Brandon Christian, and Kolby Horton spent time Friday evening observing BCSO Dispatcher Peterson. This training seeks to improve communications effectiveness and efficiency while introducing our firefighters to "that voice we hear in the middle of the night".
