The city is hiring a Full-Time Animal Control Officer. Full-time officers maintain a 40hr per week schedule plus overtime for after-hour dispatches.

Animal Control officers work every other weekend and are on call 24/7 (on their on call week) for emergency calls. They not only patrol and respond to dangerous dog and stray animal calls, they assist in the dog building with regular cleaning of kennels, carrying animals to and from the vet for medical care, and picking up donations and purchases of dog and cat food.

Animal Control Officers MUST have a valid and current MS Driver's license. No exceptions.

Animal Control Officers must also pass a background check, pre employment drug screening, and be able to pass random drug screenings if required to.

Must love working with animals and be compassionate in their care and handling.
