As students head back to school, the Clever Police Department reminds everyone to slow down, stay alert, and help keep our students safe.

Officers will be actively enforcing school zones and school bus stops throughout the school year. Drivers who fail to obey school zone restrictions or who illegally pass stopped school buses may be issued citations.

Please give yourself extra time, watch for children crossing the roadway, obey school zone requirements, and stop for school buses when required by law.

A few extra seconds of patience can prevent a tragedy. Let’s work together to keep our students safe and make this a great school year.

SCAM ALERT – FAKE COURT NOTICE
We’ve been made aware of a letter going around claiming to be a “Final Notice – Court Enforcement Action” from the State of Missouri.
Let us save you some stress…
This is 100% a scam.
If Missouri courts were coming after you, they wouldn’t send a letter that looks like it was made on someone’s lunch break with a QR code slapped on it.
Red flags:
• QR code asking for payment.
• “Immediate action required” language meant to scare you
• Lists multiple random violations all in one notice.
• Look closely at the photo—it appears distorted and not like an official document.
Do NOT:
• Scan the QR code
• Send money
• Enter any personal information
Do this instead:
• Contact your local court directly if you’re concerned
• Call us if you’re unsure—we’re happy to help
If you’ve received one of these, let us know so we can keep others in the community informed.
