What an incredible couple of days for our STEM students!
This past week, students attended the ITS America Conference in Detroit alongside STEM teacher Mr. Schaffner., where they showcased their 9-foot-scale replica of the Gordie Howe International Bridge. Their project served as a conversation starter with transportation professionals, engineers, educators, government officials and industry leaders from across North America.
Beyond displaying their work students were interviewed by WDIV Channel 4, met Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and represented CHS with professionalism, curiosity, and confidence.
Experiences like these don't happen by accident. They are the result of dedicated educators who are willing to think beyond the classroom and create meaningful opportunities for students. A special thank you to Mr. Schaffner and Mr. Staton for their leadership, vision, and commitment to providing authentic, real-world learning experiences that challenge students to grow and excel.
We are proud of the way these students represented CHS and grateful for the partnerships and opportunities that continue to connect classroom learning with future careers.
