Findlay Township Police Department Welcome to the official page of the Findlay Township Police Department. This page exists for informational purposes only, and is not monitored 24/7.

If you need to file a report or speak with an officer, please call (724) 695-7777 or 911. The Findlay Township Police Department is a full-time agency, providing 24 hour law enforcement services to the residents and visitors of Findlay Township. The department is responsible for over 32 square miles, making Findlay Township the largest municipality by area in Allegheny County, next to the City of

Pittsburgh. The department employs 21 full time officers and 8 full time dispatchers. These officers provide the basic patrol function of the department, as well as several additional services. These services include, but are not limited to, a Criminal Investigations Function, Canine Function, and Community Relations Function, which also provides a School Resource Officer to the West Allegheny School District. As a department, we strive to provide the highest level of service, and conduct ourselves with the utmost professionalism and integrity. We achieve this through community oriented policing, consistently interacting with the public, and welcoming feedback so that we can constantly improve. We also ensure that our officers receive the highest level of training, through an extensive Field Training program for new officers, and continued relevant and realistic training, which is conducted within the department, as well as jointly with surrounding area police departments. We hope that this page will encourage you to work more closely with the department to keep the community a safe place to live and work. Please be courteous and respectful in your comments, and understand that the Findlay Township Police Department reserves the right to remove any posts or comments that are deemed offensive or inappropriate. E-Bikes and E-Scooters

There has been an increase in popularity with electric or motorized bikes and scooters lately, and a lot of confusion about what's legal and what isn't.

Generally speaking, most of these vehicles are NOT legal to be ridden on roadways, sidewalks, or bike paths, without being properly registered and operated by a licensed driver.

E-Scooters are only permitted on private property.

E-Bikes are only allowed to be operated if they are under 1 horsepower, have a top speed of less than 20 mph, and the rider is at least 16 years of age. Riders must also follow all applicable traffic laws, same as a bicycle. Otherwise, they are classified as a Motorized Pedalcycle and must be registered like any other motor vehicle.

Please see the attached image, provided by the Commonwealth of PA, for general information on these vehicles.
