Visit Columbia California Columbia State Historic Park is a living 1850s gold rush town located in the Sierra Nevada foothills!

The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization. Our primary mission is to promote the town of Columbia, our local business members, and tourism through marketing, promotion, and our annual events. We are funded by membership dues, vendor booth fees, fundraisers, and sponsorships.

Columbiaโ€™s 42nd Annual Fiddle & Bango Contest takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, and is being presented by Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Bring your own chair for the contest, starting at 10:30am. It is FREE to park and to attend. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate! The entry fee is only $15 for adults and is totally FREE for youth contestants ages 19 and under. Sign up to compete at 9:00am โ€“ 10:30am on the day of show. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in all 7 categories including fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, vocal, miscellaneous, and original song. First place winners from each category (except original song) will square off to win the whole contest and take home our $250 CASH grand prize plus a commemorative plaque and serious street cred in Columbia, California. This yearโ€™s day-long old-school, musical extravaganza is dedicated to our longtime, illustrious Master of Ceremonies, Steve LaVine. More details about the competition, including the contest rules, will be shared at least two weeks ahead of the event. We are looking forward to seeing you on the old-timey, tree-lined main street of Columbia in front of the gazebo in just 38 days!
