Humble prayer. Then participate in the day.

I begin this day by acknowledging that I don’t control everything. I ask God for wisdom to know what’s mine to do, courage to do it faithfully, and humility to accept what I cannot change.

Help me to meet people where they’re at, just as You’ve met me where I’m at so many times. Let me be grateful instead of entitled, present instead of distracted, and useful instead of self-focused.

Keep my heart teachable. Guard me from pride in success and despair in struggle. Remind me that my worth isn’t measured by my accomplishments today but by the One I belong to.

Then, after I’ve prayed, let me stop overthinking and simply participate in the day You’ve given me. One conversation. One task. One act of kindness. One faithful step at a time.

Amen.

Did you know Ohio’s first structured alcohol recovery center opened back in 1948?
Stella Maris started as a place to help people struggling with alcohol when most were ignored, jailed, or written off. That shift marked the beginning of treating addiction as something that deserves support, not judgment.
