💙 Wood County Senior Services Levy Spotlight

On November 3, Wood County voters will be asked to support the Senior Services Levy Renewal. This is a renewal levy, not a new tax, and simply continues the funding already approved by voters that must be renewed every five years.

Levy funding helps provide meals, transportation, caregiver support, social services, wellness programs, and activities that help older adults remain independent and connected.

Over the next several weeks, we'll be sharing stories about the impact these services have across Wood County.

Tuscarawas County Senior Center still has rooms available for the Alaska Cruise! Anyone age 18 and over can travel. No need to be a Tuscarawas County resident or a member of their senior center. Travel is open to EVERYONE!!!

OASC President Shelley Ratliff and OASC Executive Director David Corey attended The 2026 Governor’s Policy Summit on Healthy Aging, hosted by the Ohio Department of Aging and Director Ursel J. McElroy, today. The Summit convened Ohio’s foremost thought leaders, policy innovators, and changemakers to help shape the state’s strategy for supporting healthy aging.

This year’s summit explored the pivotal intersection of demographic shifts, economic development, and emerging technologies.

In her keynote, Director McElroy underscored an essential challenge: while we’ve added years to life, we haven’t always added life to those years. Her call to action resonated deeply: “We created more time. Now we have to decide what we will do with it. Future-proof or fall behind. That choice begins today.”
