Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging We help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain independent. We assist caregivers and provide Medicare advice in 8 counties. www.coaaa.org

In-home services, including PASSPORT, help seniors in central Ohio stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible. COAAA also provides older adult resources and information, including support for those on Medicare. COAAA's Volunteer Guardian Program (VGP) trains and supports volunteers to become court-appointed guardians for nursing home residents. Volunteer guardians visit regularly and make critical decisions regarding the individual's medical care and quality of life.

The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, The Ohio State University’s Age Friendly Columbus and Franklin County and the Franklin County Office on Aging partnered for the 2026 Central Ohio Regional Assessment on Aging (CORAA).

CORAA is the only random-sample survey of older adults aged 50+ across 8-counties that identifies key issues affecting aging people in the region, including community safety, housing, scams, food security, and more.

Survey findings were released this morning during the Findings and Data Dashboard Release webinar with over 530 attendees. There will be an in-person presentation on the findings and the dashboard at the Senior Services Roundtable on October 21, at the Fran Ryan Center.

Medicare provides coverage for preventive services that can help you maintain your health and identify potential issues early. All individuals enrolled in Medicare are eligible to access these services without the need for additional sign-up or application.

Today is the last day to register or update your voter registration for the November General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Here’s what you need to know:

- Early in-person voting begins Tuesday, October 6 through Sunday, November 1. Visit your county Board of Elections to cast your ballot in person or drop off your absentee ballot.

- Absentee ballots: Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Monday, November 2, or dropped off at the Board of Elections by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.
