Happy from the Ohio Association of Foodbanks! 🧡

We celebrated by wearing orange and hosting our annual all-orange potluck! It’s always fun to see what everyone brings, but this year, the chocolate chip pumpkin bread definitely took the cake. Or… the bread? 😂

Either way, it was a great day to gather with our colleagues, enjoy some good food, and celebrate the shared mission that brings us together: alleviating hunger in Ohio through our collective work.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Harvesting Hope Tour: Farms, Faith and Foodbanks in southwest Ohio!

This tour highlighted the powerful partnerships between Ohio foodbanks, local farmers and producers, faith-based organizations, and community partners working together through the Ohio Food Program and Agricultural Clearance Program to get fresh, local food to families across the state.

We’re grateful to Happy Chicken Farms and Merry Milk Maid, Meta Church, Michael Farms, The WhereHouse through Urbana United Methodist Church (Ohio), Steven A. Hunter Hope Fund, and Sunrise Farms Markets for welcoming us and sharing the incredible work they do in their communities. From millions of eggs and hundreds of thousands of pounds of fresh produce to pantry services, community meals, and home deliveries, these partners show what it means to be local food champions.

Together, we’re supporting Ohio agriculture, strengthening community partnerships, and helping ensure more Ohio families have access to nutritious food grown and produced close to home.

Thank you to the Lt. Governor's team, the Ohio Department of Aging, Sen Reynolds, State Senator Shane Wilkin , Sen Manchester, Sen T Johnson, Rep Tim Barhorst, and Rep Peterson for making this day special for our honorees!

What better way to celebrate than by bringing together Ohio's foodbankers? 🧡

Yesterday, foodbank staff from across Ohio gathered to share ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen the partnerships that help get food into the hands of neighbors facing hunger.

The day included peer learning sessions, discussions with OAF leadership on the fundamentals of foodbanking, and conversations about reducing food waste, increasing access to fresh and perishable foods, and overcoming logistical challenges. Attendees also explored innovative approaches to home delivery programs, community partnerships, and expanding food access across our state.

We are incredibly proud of our network and the vital work foodbanks do every day to serve communities in all 88 counties. Thank you to everyone who joined us and for your dedication to ending hunger in Ohio. Happy !

A massive shoutout to our ShareCorps Volunteers for showing up and giving back during the 9/11 Meal Pack Day! Together, we were able to help with the packing and preparation of over 117,000 individual meals. Thank you to everyone who joined us to make a tangible difference in our community!

This week, we welcomed 12 new AmeriCorps Volunteers who are beginning their service with our Healthy Harvest Corps program!

Over the coming year, these dedicated individuals will serve at 7 of our member foodbanks across Ohio, helping advance our network’s Food Is Medicine initiatives and strengthen connections between hunger relief, health, and communities across the state.

We’re thrilled to begin Year 2 of Healthy Harvest Corps and incredibly grateful to these 12 individuals for choosing to dedicate their time and talents to serving Ohio communities. ❤️

This Summer our ShareCorps AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteers continued their incredible year-long service across Ohio. While they might be working behind the scenes, their impact is massive. From mobilizing nearly 776 volunteers to securing over $151,610 in vital donations, their capacity-building work is fighting poverty at its roots and ensuring our partner organizations have the infrastructure they need to succeed.

Recently, Congressman Rep. Mike Carey, teams from U.S. Senator Jon Husted, U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno and Congressman Rep. Troy Balderson, and the Ohio Chamber of Commerce joined us at Mid-Ohio Food Collective to for .

Together, they rolled up their sleeves to pack CSFP boxes and learn more about how Ohio foodbanks help provide critical nutrition to seniors facing hunger across our communities.

During the visit, we also had the opportunity to thank Senator Husted’s team for their work on the Delivering for Rural Seniors Act, which will help support and expand CSFP home delivery so more seniors can access the food they need.

We’re grateful for leaders and partners who take the time to show up, learn, serve, and help raise awareness about hunger in Ohio. Thanks for lending a hand! 🧡

Today we're celebrating Ohio's 12 Feeding America foodbanks and the pantry partners, staff, and volunteers who make this work happen every day.

Whether it's moving food, stocking shelves, welcoming neighbors, or finding solutions to meet growing needs, they're showing up every day to help make sure people in all 88 Ohio counties have access to the food they need.

During , we're especially grateful for everything they do. We couldn't be more proud of this network and the way they show up for Ohio's communities day in and day out. It is truly an honor to serve alongside and be in service to all of you. 🧡

Hunger Action Month is all about showing up for our neighbors, and we were grateful to have some great Summit County leaders do just that!

Last week, we joined the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank for a volunteer night where State Rep. Veronica Sims, State Senator Casey Weinstein and Rachel Schaefer from U.S. Senator Jon Husted office rolled up their sleeves to sort and repack donated Starbucks products for our neighbors facing hunger.

Thank you to these leaders for spending their evening serving alongside the community and helping make sure good food gets to the people who need it most.
