📐 Learning, Connecting, and Growing at the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference!

Our SST 11 consultants recently attended the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) Annual Conference in Sandusky, connecting with educators from across the state and exploring strategies and practices that support high-quality mathematics instruction.

Conference sessions highlighted innovative instructional approaches, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving, collaborative learning, and the importance of professional learning communities and peer observations in improving student outcomes.

Opportunities like this allow our consultants to continue growing professionally, share ideas with colleagues, and bring valuable resources and instructional strategies back to the schools and districts we serve.

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Office of Math Achievement is launching monthly virtual office hours to share updates, answer initiative-related questions, and support high-quality mathematics instruction. District instructional leaders are encouraged to participate, with new webinar topics announced each month.

We had a full house for our first Transition Network of the year!

It was great to see so many familiar faces and welcome new participants as we came together to learn, connect, and strengthen transition practices across our region.

Our focus was Competitive Integrated Employment, exploring transition services and resources across the grades—from PreK–5 through 12+—and how intentional planning at every stage can help prepare students for life beyond school.

This is ELITE 11 in action—collaborating, sharing expertise, and being intentional about creating meaningful transformation in education and improved outcomes for students.
