Twenty-four students. Twenty-four stories of determination. Twenty-four futures filled with possibility. ✨

On May 26, Share Ourselves celebrated 24 graduating seniors from Back Bay, Costa Mesa, Estancia, and Newport Harbor High Schools through our 2026 First in Family College Scholarship Program.

Throughout the evening, students heard powerful messages from leaders who shared their own experiences as first-generation college students, overcoming self-doubt, navigating setbacks, and finding success through perseverance.

As our Chief Operations Officer Rudy Ramos reminded the students:

"Show up, even when doubt shows up."

Each recipient received a scholarship, laptop, school supply gift cards, and the support of a community that believes in their potential.

Congratulations to our 2026 First in Family scholars. We can't wait to see where your journey takes you. 💙

We were proud to be part of the Extraordinary Families celebration at the Melinda Hoag Center for Healthy Living.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, this event brought families and community partners together following a series of workshops focused on emotional well-being and the 5 Love Languages.

The celebration created space for reflection, connection, and shared learning, while also highlighting local resources and support available in our community.

We’re grateful to stand alongside our partners in supporting mental health, connection, and family wellbeing.

We recently held a Newborn Class at the Melinda Hoag Center for Healthy Living in Newport Beach, where our Share Ourselves Children and Family Health Center is located.

Led by our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mina Hakim, the class provided education and support for expecting parents, including newborn care basics, what to watch for in the early days, and the importance of scheduling follow-up appointments before leaving the hospital after birth.

Our goal is to help families feel informed, confident, and supported as they welcome their new babies. Stay tuned for more classes and community education opportunities.

We’re honored to share that Share Ourselves has been named the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year for California’s 73rd Assembly District by Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris.

This recognition reflects the collective impact of our patients, staff, volunteers, community partners, and donors who make our mission possible every day. Together, we provide integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, food assistance, and support services to thousands of Orange County residents each year.

May is Women’s Health Month, and we’re raising awareness about the importance of cancer screenings while connecting patients to CalOptima Health Member Health Rewards for completing preventive care.

We’re also proud to pilot self-collected cervical cancer screening at El Sol—an innovative option that helps remove barriers and make care more accessible for our community.
