MONARCH DAY!

Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Curtis Public Library, 10:30 am – Noon

Learn about the monarch butterfly life cycle from Jennifer Wycoff, Park Ranger at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge.
Listen as Bella the Monarch reads, “Let’s Look at Monarch Butterflies.”
Observe live Monarch larvae(if available).
Enjoy a color, cut and paste butterfly craft.

Activities continue at The Erickson Center for the Arts, 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm.

Election Day -- Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Curtis Public Library millage will be on the ballot. This millage will be "new" for the library, replacing the previous millages that no longer apply to the independent, established, township library. The millage amount requested is the same amount -- .50 mill (1/2 mill) -- as in previous expired millages, and will not result in any increase in the tax rate.

Meet U.P. Author Sara Maurer at Curtis Public Library on Monday, July 27, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Maurer's book, "A Good Animal" has been featured in several publications, and was a Book of the Month Club selection. The book is set in the farmland area surrounding Sault Ste Marie, Michigan.
