We've received questions from residents about why they occasionally hear the Community Park siren. Unlike the City's outdoor warning sirens, the Community Park siren may activate independently when nearby lightning is detected or when a severe weather warning is issued for the park. It also broadcasts automated voice announcements advising park visitors to seek shelter.

Citywide outdoor warning sirens are activated for confirmed tornado or tornadic activity, hail measuring 1.25 inches or larger, and sustained winds 70+ mph.

Meet Gypsy an approximately 2yr old Staffordshire Terrier Mix. She is completely vetted including her Heartworm Treatment. Gypsy would make a fantastic running buddy or someone who wants an active dog, but also will relax and be a couch potato as well. We will require a meet and greet if you have other dogs in the home as Gypsy can be selective on her doggy friends. Please share this sweet girl with all your friends 109 days in the shelter is too long for a young dog who wants a family so bad to call her very own!

Travel Advisory
All railroad crossings through downtown and on FM 548 are currently closed due to an unknown malfunction.

Union Pacific is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. Please use the Gateway overpass as an alternate route. We will provide updates as they become available.

🐾 Updated Operating Hours for the Forney Animal Shelter

🐾Beginning Monday, August 3, the Forney Animal Shelter will transition to updated public operating hours until further notice.

Public Hours:
• Monday: Closed (Priority Calls Only)
• Tuesday: Closed (Priority Calls Only)
• Wednesday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Thursday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Friday: Closed (Priority Calls Only)
• Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Sunday: Closed (Priority Calls Only)

Please note that on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the shelter will be closed to the public from 1–2 p.m. for lunch.

🚧TxDOT contractors will temporarily close four driveways along FM 548 to install storm drainage infrastructure. Each driveway closure will last one day. Motorists should use alternate entrances within the shopping centers or access from Marketplace Boulevard during the closures.

-Driveway #3 – August 5, 2026
