EPA Region 6 is taking a closer look at the State Road 114 Groundwater Plume site.

EPA worked with technical experts to collect soil and rock samples and evaluate potential sources of groundwater contamination. The team used real-time screening technology to help identify areas for investigation.

These efforts give EPA a clearer picture of conditions below ground and help the team better understand the extent and potential sources of contamination. The information gathered during testing will help guide future investigations and support the design of future remedies for the site.

Congrats to the City of Bay City, Texas! Bay City was awarded $1,110,105 through the Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Grant Program which supports building resilience against cyberattacks and natural hazards to strengthen vital water infrastructure across the country. Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced $11.75 million in grant funding for midsize and large drinking water systems to help protect them from cybersecurity threats and improve resiliency against extreme weather events.
