Darby School District #9 is pleased to offer free summer meal opportunities for children and teens ages 18 and under throughout the summer. Families can take advantage of our Grab & Go Summer Meals program, which provides a full week of breakfast and lunch meals in one convenient box available for pickup each Wednesday at the Darby Elementary Cafeteria. We will also be serving free Lunch in the Park on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These programs help ensure that children in our community have access to nutritious meals while school is out of session. Families planning to participate in the Grab & Go Meal Program are encouraged to scan the QR code on the flyer to complete their food order. We encourage families to participate and help us spread the word so that every child who needs a meal this summer can receive one. Here are some images from both a hot and a wet, soggy, rainy State Meet last weekend. Sixteen Darby Athletes qualified for State-we had lots of PRs and great performances. All four (4 x1 and 4 x 4) of our Relays advanced-all of them close to our school records-except for the boys 4 x 400 which placed second and ran another record of 3:23…whoa! We say goodbye to some seniors who have put it out there for four years in high school! Day one for getting better for next year starts today! It was really nice this year having people in jumps, throws, sprints, and distance at state-we kept busy and had people in the first event and the last event each day-so we earned our Dave’s Hot Chicken and Chipotle after the meet. Have a great summer and have a Better Day…….People.
