This week, the Dearborn Police Explorer Post held its Promotions Banquet! At this meeting, we promoted one Captain, one Lieutenant, two Sergeants, and five Corporals.

Explorer F. El-Zein was promoted to Captain!

Explorer Z. Saad was promoted to Lieutenant!

Explorers T. Charafeddine and M. Othman were promoted to Sergeants!

Explorers H. Tannira, H. Charara, S. Assli, A. Atallah, and L. Elnouri were promoted to Corporals!

Our Explorers went through a felony traffic stop class. We started with a presentation that covered the basics of conducting a high-risk traffic stop, including communication, officer safety, and proper procedures. 🚔

Explorers partnered up and took turns conducting traffic stops, using the PA system to call out the driver and any passengers, making an arrest, and searching the vehicle to make sure nobody else was inside.

A few more Dearborn Police Explorers are becoming Dearborn Police Officers!

This summer, our Explorers are participating in the Citizen and Youth Academy and learning about the department’s specialized units. Explorers learned about the Bomb Squad and got a hands-on look at one of the bomb robots and how it’s used to safely pick up suspicious objects. Explorers also had the opportunity to wear the bomb suit and vest. 💣

Last weekend the explorers assisted at the Salute to America event at Greenfield Village! 🇺🇸🎆

Throughout the event, Explorers assisted with traffic control, crowd control, and provided eyes and ears for the officers and security personnel working the event!
