In just ten days, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the Arab American Political Action Committee (AAPAC) will gather for its 29th Annual Banquet, celebrating 29 years of advocacy, political engagement and community strength.

For nearly three decades, AAPAC has worked tirelessly to defend our community’s interests, strengthen our voice in Michigan and support candidates who respect our rights and advance our priorities.

We are proud of our record. But our work is far from finished. Every generation has a responsibility to build on the progress it inherits, and we are determined to turn today’s achievements into greater influence and opportunity for tomorrow.

Join us on October 28. Your presence and support help sustain this work and strengthen our collective voice. Together, we can shape the decisions that affect our families, our communities and our state.

MEETING RESCHEDULING ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear AAPAC Members,

AAPAC will meet via Zoom on WEDNESDAY, September 30, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. instead of previously announced to discuss and vote on endorsement requests for the November 3 general election.

AAPAC’s endorsements of candidates who won their August 4 primary elections in the following races will be voted on again to affirm our endorsement or reconsider it:

U.S. House of Representatives
Michigan Senate
Michigan House of Representatives
Wayne County Executive
We have also received endorsement requests from candidates seeking several other offices, including:

Secretary of State
Attorney General
Local and state judicial positions
Michigan State Board of Education
Michigan State University Board of Trustees
University of Michigan Board of Regents
Wayne State University Board of Governors
Dearborn Public Schools Board of Education
Crestwood School District Board of Education
Dearborn Heights Charter Commission
We will also consider the Dearborn Public Schools bond proposal and other ballot proposals in Dearborn Heights, Wayne County and across Michigan.

As a reminder, only candidates who submit a written endorsement request before Monday’s scheduled meeting will be considered for an AAPAC endorsement. In addition, only members in good standing who have paid their annual dues are eligible to vote.

A Zoom link will be provided to all members soon.

Please also remember that our 29th Annual Banquet will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Byblos Banquet Center in Dearborn. The invitation is attached. Please share it with your family and friends.

Confirmed guests include gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson, U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, Secretary of Sate candidate Garlin Gilchrist and Attorney General candidate Eli Savit, among many others.

We look forward to seeing everyone on WEDNESDAY.

*MEANWHILE, interview with candidates running for Attorney General and Dearborn School Board has been scheduled on Sunday, September 27, from 12 noon to 2 pm. More candidates will be scheduled and will announce once confirmed. We appreciate your input and welcome your participation.

AAPAC Announces Endorsement Process for November 3, 2026 General Election

The Arab American Political Action Committee (AAPAC) will soon begin its endorsement process for candidates seeking public office in the November 3rd, 2026 General Elections.

AAPAC members will conduct candidate interviews and vote on endorsement recommendations for eligible candidates.

Candidates interested in receiving AAPAC's endorsement must submit a formal written request for consideration no later than Friday, September 25, 2026.

Please note that no candidate will be considered for an interview or endorsement unless a timely and official request for endorsement has been submitted.

But victory will not come on its own. It depends on every one of us showing up and voting in record numbers.

WE ARE NOT ALONE.

Hundreds of thousands of Michiganders stand with us in this fight, and together we have the power to shape the future.

The eyes of the nation are on Michigan. The outcome of this election will send a powerful message about the values we stand for and the direction our country will take.

TODAY is more than Election Day, it is a test of our commitment to democracy, justice, and the principles we believe in, both here at home and around the world.

History is not written by those who stay home. It is written by those who show up.

The Primary Election is TODAY, Tuesday, August 4. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Vote in person, and encourage your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. Every vote matters.

As Michigan’s August 4 Primary Election approaches, voters have an important opportunity to choose leaders who have the experience, integrity, and commitment to serve their communities effectively. Among the candidates deserving of your support is Abbas Alawieh, Democratic candidate for Michigan State Senate District 2.

Abbas Alawieh has demonstrated the leadership, experience, and dedication needed to represent the people of District 2 in Lansing. He understands the challenges facing our communities and is prepared to be a strong advocate for the residents of Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Allen Park, and the Warrendale area of Detroit.
