Judi's House

Judi's House Judi's House is a community-based nonprofit bereavement center for children and families.

Founded by former NFL quarterback Brian Griese and his wife, Dr. Brook Griese, Judi’s House is a tribute to Brian’s mother, Judi, whom he lost to breast cancer when he was 12. As Brian grew up grieving this loss, he made a commitment to use his resources to positively impact grieving children. The Grieses discovered that there were no organizations devoted to this population and dedicated themselv

es to offering a safe, compassionate environment where children could grieve and begin the lifelong healing process.

At Judi’s House, we believe every child and family deserves grief care that honors who they are and the people they love.

As we celebrate Month this year, we are focused on creating spaces rooted in connection and belonging, where all identities and families are seen, respected, and supported as they navigate grief. 💙

Ready to move beyond surveys and deepen how you measure impact?

Moving Beyond Surveys: Using Behavioral Observations, Focus Groups, and Interviews in Evaluation (1.5 CE)
🕘 9:20–10:50 AM

If you’ve ever wondered how to capture richer insights, especially for young children or those unable to complete surveys, this interactive session is for you. Learn when and how to use interviews, focus groups, and behavioral observation to strengthen your evaluation efforts and tell more powerful program stories.

Led by two of Judi's House/JAG Institute's esteemed evaluation experts, Maria Bartini and Maddy Saunders, you’ll explore practical strategies, develop a simple behavioral checklist, and practice real-world observation techniques you can take back to your work.

Walk away with tools to expand your evaluation approach and better demonstrate your impact. Don't forget to add this session to your schedule. 👉 We’d love to see you there and connect.

Last week at Judi’s House, our team came together for a meaningful Staff Development Day. 💙

We kicked off the day with a DiSC workshop led by Dr. Christie Cooper (Cooper Consulting Group, Inc.), who guided us in exploring our own leadership styles and helped us gain a deeper appreciation for how others lead. In the afternoon, our “Passion Parade” brought light-hearted inspiration as staff shared about a passion of their choice in quick 2–3 minute presentations.

We're grateful for a team that’s always learning, growing, and bringing their full selves to the work we do everyday. ✨

A huge thank you to the incredible team from Comcast for volunteering with us! 💙

Their group spent time cutting out activity materials that are used in our grief support sessions—small pieces that make a meaningful difference for the children and families we serve.

We are so grateful for your time, care, and willingness to support our work in such a hands-on way.

Interested in getting your team involved? We’d love to partner with groups and organizations to create meaningful, accessible volunteer opportunities—whether it's on-site at Judi’s House or an activity you can bring into your next team meeting.

💙 No child should be alone in grief

This AAPI Heritage Month, we honor and uplift Asian American and Pacific Islander children and families in our communities. 💙

According to our 2021 CBEM Key Topic Report on Race & Ethnicity, 1 in 26—about 176,430—Asian or Pacific Islander children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling by their 18th birthday.

At Judi’s House, we remain committed to understanding these experiences and ensuring culturally responsive support for every child who needs it.
