¡Viva la lucha libre! KIPP Northeast Elementary students were captivated as they experienced this vibrant tradition firsthand—cheering, celebrating, and having an absolute blast while learning about the culture, storytelling, and pride behind lucha libre.

More than wrestling, it’s a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, storytelling, and community. From iconic masks to legendary luchadores, lucha libre brings generations together and continues to inspire Latine/Hispanic pride around the world. ❤️

✨ Celebrating Latine/Hispanic Heritage Month at KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary! ✨

Pictured left to right are students Nanci G. and Daylene S. with Principal Jessica Huston shown in traditional China Poblana dresses!

The China Poblana dress is one of Mexico’s most recognizable traditional garments, known for its colorful embroidery, intricate patterns, and iconic long skirts. Over time, it has become a symbol of Mexican identity, cultural pride, and the rich blend of Indigenous, Spanish, and Asian influences that have shaped Mexican culture.

Today, we celebrate the stories, traditions, and cultures that make our Latine/Hispanic community so vibrant. ❤️💚

Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, first responders, and communities forever changed by that day.

On this 25th anniversary, we remember with gratitude, compassion, and a renewed commitment to the values that bring us together not tear us apart.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

When students feel seen, supported, and connected, they show up. 🙋

And when they show up, they’re ready to learn, grow, and lead.

Last year, our students and families showed up in a BIG way.

👉 +2.3 percentage points in Average Daily Attendance
👉 +6.5 percentage points in Chronic Absenteeism

Those gains don’t happen by accident. They reflect strong systems, safe and supportive schools, and students who feel that they belong.

We’re proud of the progress. And we’re even more excited about even BETTER attendance this school year! Keep crushing it, y'all!

We’ve got more great news, y’all!

🟢 5 of our 6 schools just earned GREEN on the Colorado School Performance Framework — making us the ONLY charter network in the district with green schools from ECE all the way through 12th grade!

Green means our students are thriving, growing, and being set up for success at every stage of their journey. This is just the latest win from a series of incredible wins from last school year. When we believe in our students, they show UP and show OUT and show us WHO THEY ARE.

None of it happens without our amazing teachers and school leaders, who come to school every day with skill, heart, and unshakeable belief in our KIPPsters. We’re just getting started! 💚
