The survey is open to Michigan residents aged 18 and older with any disability, including those who have never smoked or used to***co. Those who complete the survey can enter a drawing for a chance to win a gift card.

“Students with disabilities and their families deserve our full attention and best thinking. I’m glad to be part of a bipartisan effort that listens, learns, and focuses on what is working, what is not, and ultimately what helps students with disabilities succeed.”

Members of the State Board of Education on Tuesday voted unanimously to form a committee to examine special education programs in Michigan and to work with stakeholders to review statewide needs.

The committee will focus on identifying best practices, promising potential outcomes, elevating stakeholder perspectives and support efforts to improve special education services.

Are you a family caregiver of an adult with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD)? Are you age 40 or older?

Researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago are looking for family caregivers to help pilot test a survey about what helps adults with IDD and their family members thrive. Participants will complete an online survey, take the same survey again one week later, and provide feedback on the survey experience.

Participants who complete both surveys will receive a $25 gift card.
