It offers safe shooting opportunities for all including members of the 4-H Shooting Sports, and Sheriff's deputies.

Practical Shooting Match – Coming in June

Join us for our first practical shooting match next month (exact date coming soon) at the Michael D. Burns Shooting Complex, located at 1142 Landfill Rd, Dry Prong, LA.

This match is hosted by the Grant Parish Shooting Club, and we’re excited to welcome both new and experienced shooters.

We will be following USPSA rules and regulations.

We will also be selling club memberships. Membership includes:
• Access to the range during operational hours
• Reduced match fees

Match Fees:
• Non-members: $20
• Members: Discounted rate

Very special moment today as Grant Parish 4-H kids planted a “Liberty Tree” on the grounds of the new shooting range in Dry Prong to commemorate America’s 250th Anniversary.

This ceremony reminded me of one of my favorite Ronald Reagan quotes: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”

Perhaps there is no place more appropriate to plant this symbolic tree than a shooting range where free Americans of all ages come to peacefully practice their 2nd Amendment rights. The famous words of Thomas Jefferson also seem fitting given these turbulent times: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants".

Thanks to Commissioner Mike Strain for donating the live oak, and thanks to America250 Louisiana for helping coordinate these events (especially my friend Representative Mike Bayham)!

Bring a lawn chair if you have one as our seating is limited.
Please arrive with your weapons unloaded and in a case to be checked in.
Please be careful and mindful of others while parking.
If you have eye and ear protection, bring it. If not, we have you covered.

It’s the final countdown!! Join us tomorrow for the Grand Opening!! Registration starts at 9:00 and competitions begin at 10:00! Tons of door prizes, silent auctions, free hot dogs and sausage sandwiches, chips, water, and snack cake from the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office, concession stand to purchase drinks and snacks, tee shirts, and wholesome family fun!! Bring a lawn chair!!
