In Summer 2026, the Ecorse Public Library collaborated with Gift of Life Michigan to make fleece comfort blankets to give to families and loved ones of organ donors. We also made pet toys from the leftover fleece. Ecorse students and community members made dozens of toys which we donated to our partners at the Friends of the River Rouge Animal Shelter and the Lincoln Park Animal Shelter. Thank you to our awesome Ecorse community and to all of our amazing partners for your work and collaboration to make this project possible!
