Refuel, reload, relaunch 🔥

The 60th Aircraft Maintenance Unit completed an Integrated Combat Turn exercise, refueling and rearming an F-35A Lightning II to rapidly return the aircraft to the fight.

ICTs are becoming routine at the 33rd FW, sharpening rapid-turn capabilities, strengthening readiness, and enabling air dominance.

Col. Nicholas Lofthouse assumed command of the 33rd Fighter Wing from Col. Dave Skalicky during a change of command ceremony at Eglin AFB on July 10th. In addition, the 33rd FW has transitioned from Air Education & Training Command to Air Combat Command.

We are honored to have served alongside Col. Skalicky! Thank you for your service to the 33rd FW, and we wish you and your family the best on your next assignment! We would like to extend a warm welcome to Col. Lofthouse and his family as he takes on his duty as the new commander!

Col. Skalicky’s ‘Fini’ Flight ⚡️

Col. Dave Skalicky flew his final sortie in the F-35A Lightning II known as the “Gulf Spirit II” at Eglin AFB on July 8, 2026. This marks the end of a chapter as he transitions to a new role and finalizes his time as the 33rd Fighter Wing commander.

Tomorrow, the 33rd FW will hold a change of command ceremony. Check back in the morning for a link to our livestream.

Arming freedom after dark 💣🌙

The 60th Aircraft Maintenance Unit and the 96th Test Wing White AMU loaded live munitions into 33rd Fighter Wing F-35s. The 96th TW White AMU loaded lives for the first time.

30 years gone, never forgotten

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Khobar Towers bombing in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Nineteen Airmen lost their lives, twelve of them were Nomads. Members of the 33rd FW, families, and community gathered today to honor their sacrifice. Thank you to everyone in attendance.
