🚨Guardian Arena IV Qualifiers start TOMORROW! 🚨

Guardians, this is it. Local prep & qualifier workouts kick off tomorrow, August 3rd at 0700, on LAAFB Field (next to the Base Gym) 💪🛰️

Military. Air Force. Civilians. All Guardians welcome: show up and show us what you’ve got. Qualifiers will get the opportunity to compete at the Space Force level in the big arena at Patrick SFB in December!

Yesterday, Col. Andrew Dermanoski passed the guidon after two years steering Space Base Delta 3 — and Col. Slagle officially took the helm, ready to lead our 7,000+ Airmen and Guardians into the next chapter.

Bringing back the personal touch to leadership development! 📈

Congratulations to Airman 1st Class Jalen Rawls from the 61st Force Support Squadron, Space Base Delta 3, who earned an early promotion to senior airman! Rawls is among the first selected following SBD 3’s return to in-person below-the-zone evaluation boards at Los Angeles Air Force Base. Transitioning from virtual reviews back to face-to-face evaluation boards strengthens warrior culture across the installation, testing military bearing, confidence, and leadership under pressure. Cultivating exceptional leaders is a top priority to ensure the peak mission readiness of our joint warfighters. Way to go, Senior Airman-select Rawls! 🚀

👏 Congratulations to Tech Sergeant Mark Brindus — Space Base Delta 3’s July Knight of the Month.

Serving as the Contracting Officer’s Representative for the PRIDE and Goodwill contracts, TSgt Brindus’ oversight of civil engineering, infrastructure, and base maintenance operations ensures contractors strictly adhere to technical standards, safety protocols, and contract requirements to provide the foundational support that keeps the base safe and fully operational. Brindus’ work is integral in the maintenance of base facilities, directly enabling the Space Base Delta 3 and Space Systems Command team to focus on the mission of securing the space domain without interruption. 🚀

When he isn’t ensuring the highest standard of base facilities, Brindus is a dedicated family man who loves spending time with his wife and two kids. He enjoys spending time bushcrafting, woodworking and watching baseball in his free time, and is nearly finished with his bachelors in IT.

Thank you, TSgt Brindus, for your hard work and for supporting SBD 3’s mission by sustaining our facilities to the highest standard. You make our base and our quality of life better every day!

Queen Latifah (Right) interviews U.S. Space Force 1st Lt. Sabrina Taylor (Left), acquisition officer specializing in the Missile Warning and Tracking area, System Delta 84, Space Systems Command, about what it means to serve in the during the America250 July 4th Block Party.

Taylor is assigned to the Los Angeles Air Force Base, where she manages the development of advanced missile tracking and warning capabilities.

The Los Angeles Air Force Base Color Guard had the honor of presenting the Colors, at the massive America250 July 4th Block Party.

A 4-ship formation of F-35A Lightning II aircraft from the 63rd Fighter Squadron from Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, flies over in one of the most historic venues in the country, a powerful reminder of the unity and strength that defined our nation for two and a half centuries.
