Unfortunately, due to low registration numbers, the Consumer Decision Making Contest that was scheduled for today at 6:00 PM in Oakes has been CANCELLED.

We appreciate everyone's interest and understanding. We hope to offer this opportunity again in the future and encourage members to participate when it is available.

🐐🌟 Day 3 of the Showmanship Clinic – Goats! 🌟🐐

We wrapped up our final day of the Showmanship Clinic with Goat Showmanship, and what an amazing turnout we had! It was wonderful to see so many young exhibitors eager to learn and improve their skills before fair season.

Throughout the clinic, members learned valuable showmanship techniques, how to wash and dry their goats, and tips to help them become more confident and successful exhibitors in and out of the show ring.

A huge thank you to our volunteer, Ryder Wendel, for taking the time to share his knowledge, experiences, and helpful advice with our youth. We truly appreciate community members who invest in the next generation of livestock exhibitors.

We are incredibly excited to see all of the hard work these exhibitors have been putting in and can't wait to see them and their projects in just a few weeks at the fair! Keep practicing and enjoying time with your animals—we know all of your dedication will pay off. 🐐💚

🐴 Check out our Prairie Rose 4-H Club!

The Prairie Rose Club met at the beginning of the month, where members had the opportunity to learn all about horses. A special thank you to Tara Mertz-Hack for sharing her knowledge and giving a lesson on horses, including the history of her family's American Quarter Horse breeding program. Members enjoyed learning about the dedication, care, and traditions involved in raising and breeding quality horses.

The Prairie Rose Club would also like to encourage the public to attend the Dickey County 4-H Horse Show on Friday, June 26, at the Bear Creek Roughrider Arena in Oakes. The show will begin at 9:30 a.m. Come out and support our youth as they showcase their horsemanship skills and hard work!
