Have you entered our Make a Difference Challenge yet?

There is still time to show us how you are helping make a difference in our community and environment.

Clean up trash, plant a native plant, volunteer, help wildlife, restore a habitat, clean up a trail, or find your own way to make a positive impact.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Make a positive difference.
2. Take a photo of what you did.
3. Post your photo publicly on Facebook or Instagram.
4. Tag Cedar Point Environmental Park.
5. Make sure you are following Cedar Point Environmental Park.

One winner will receive a FREE WADING TRIP at Cedar Point Environmental Park.

Your action does not have to be big. A small action can make a big difference, and your example might inspire someone else to get involved.

Have you ever stopped to really look at what is living around you?

Cedar Point is home to a variety of habitats, and each one supports its own community of plants and wildlife. From the pine flatwoods and coastal hammocks to the mangroves and estuary, there is always something to discover.

Next time you visit, slow down and look closely.

What can you find?

A bird perched in the trees, a butterfly moving between flowers, a crab along the shoreline, or even something as small as a native plant you have never noticed before.

Explore the natural beauty of Charlotte County with us this October! Join CHEC volunteers for guided nature walks at different parks and preserves throughout the county. All walks take place at 8am on Wednesdays and Saturdays in October. 🚶‍♀️

Come explore local ecosystems, discover native plants and wildlife, and learn more about the incredible natural spaces right in our community. 🌴

Native plants are an important part of Florida’s ecosystems. They provide food and shelter for birds, butterflies, pollinators, and other wildlife, while also being adapted to our local climate and conditions.

When you choose native plants for your yard or community, you’re creating habitat right where you live.

What native plants are growing around your home?

And remember, planting a native plant can also count as an entry in our Make a Difference Challenge.

Cedar Point Environmental Park could not be what it is without the people who give their time to help care for it. 👏 Join us for our Volunteer Meeting at Cedar Point on Thursday, October, 15th at 9am.

This meeting is designed for both new and current volunteers. Whether you’ve been volunteering with us for years or are interested in getting involved for the first time, we’d love to have you join us! 🌱

There are many ways to get involved at Cedar Point, including helping in the Visitor Center, leading guided nature walks, assisting with trail maintenance and gardening, supporting special events, and more. 🦅

The first 15 people to sign up will receive a free Cedar Point volunteer t-shirt! 👕

Volunteering is more than giving your time. It is an opportunity to learn about the environment, meet people in your community, spend time outdoors, and help protect a place that belongs to all of us. 👋
