𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟳 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲! 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗟𝘁. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗮!

This morning, friends, family, and coworkers lined up at Station 71 to send off Lieutenant Richard "Dick" Chapura in true fire service tradition, with a walkout ceremony marking the end of an incredible 27-year career with Englewood Fire.

From the calls answered to the crews he trained and led, Lt. Chapura has left his mark on this department and this community for nearly three decades. Today wasn't just goodbye. It was a celebration of a career built on dedication, brotherhood, and service.

Congratulations, Lt. Chapura. Enjoy your next chapter. You've more than earned it. 🚒👏

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗟𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗞𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗶𝗰!

Ten years ago, Cory Krajic walked through our doors as a Firefighter/EMT ready to serve. Since then, he has worked hard and been promoted to Engineer/Paramedic.

On Tuesday, he was presented with a brand-new red helmet, marking his next promotion to Lieutenant. This is a promotion Cory has earned after ten years of dedication, growth and showing up for his community.

Starting Oct. 3, Cory officially steps into his new role, leading from the front and carrying the same work ethic that's defined his entire career here.

Congratulations, Lt. Krajic. Wear that red helmet with pride. You've earned it.

𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿!

Our littlest community members got an up-close look at the fire engine, tried their hand at opening and closing the battery-operated spreaders, and took a turn spraying the hose.

Future firefighters in training? We wouldn't be surprised. 😉 Thanks for having us, Foundations. Visits like these are exactly why we love what we do.

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ 𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗦. 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗛𝗘'𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝟭𝟰𝟬.𝟲 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗦

Firefighter Connor Alexander is trading his bunker gear for a race bib and competing in Ironman Chattanooga on Sunday, and we want everyone to know just how insane that is.

An Ironman is the toughest one-day race in sports. Athletes have to finish, back-to-back, with no breaks:

🏊 2.4-mile swim, it's like swimming from Englewood Beach all the way to Stump Pass

🚴 112-mile bike ride

🏃 26.2-mile marathon.

All of it, done in one shot, usually against a 17-hour clock. It takes serious training, serious mental toughness, and a body that can push through pain long after most people would tap out.

Connor already runs into burning buildings for a living. Turns out that's just the warm-up. 💪🔥

Congratulations to Chief Kevin Easton, who is celebrating seven years as our Fire Chief, and we're excited to share that he recently signed a three-year contract extension.

With 40 years in the fire service, Chief Easton has poured his heart into this department and this community, and it shows. Under his leadership, EFD has grown, improved, and stayed true to the traditions that make this job special.

As Chief Easton put it best: "Titles and positions are temporary. What matters is whether you leave the organization and community better than you found them."

Congratulations, Chief! We're excited to see where your leadership and experience take us in the next three years.
