Did you know the Currey Building has been a West Franklin Street landmark since 1899? Built for pharmacist Leon Currey, it housed Currey's Drug Store for nearly 70 years. After he died, his wife Alice took over operations with Robert Mueller and ran the family business until their son Hiram took it over in 1918. Located at 2201 W Franklin Street, the building's beautiful Romanesque arches, intricate brickwork, and carved stone details still make it one of the West Side's most recognizable historic buildings—a reminder of the businesses that helped shape Evansville's neighborhood commercial district.
