🔥 FIRE UPDATE – PLEASE AVOID THE AREA 🔥

Middle Fork Fire
Weber County, Utah
June 21, 2026 - 1100

Firefighters continue to make progress on the Middle Fork Fire.

📌 Estimated at approximately 334 acres (updated mapping is pending)
📌 10% contained
📌 A Type 2 hand crew arrived overnight, with an additional crew expected to arrive midday today
📌 Aviation resources are assigned and responding to support suppression efforts

⚠️ PLEASE AVOID THE AREA ⚠️
Firefighters, heavy equipment, and aircraft are actively operating throughout the incident. Public access creates additional hazards and can slow suppression efforts.

🚫 DO NOT FLY DRONES 🚫
If you fly, we can’t. Unauthorized drones in the area can force firefighting aircraft to be grounded, delaying suppression efforts and putting firefighters and the public at greater risk.

Today’s operational plan focuses on placing crews along the fire perimeter, using aviation resources where needed to complete containment lines, and beginning mop-up and cold trailing operations.

Cold trailing is a firefighting technique where crews carefully inspect and feel along the burned edge of the fire to ensure all heat sources are extinguished and cannot reignite.

Thank you for helping us keep firefighters safe and allowing crews to focus on containing the fire.

🔥 WILDLAND WEDNESDAY 🔥

Training Today, Ready Tomorrow!

As we prepare for what is expected to be an active wildfire season, Weber Fire District Wildland Division continues to invest in training, collaboration, and preparedness.

One Mission, Many Partners.

Recently, our personnel attended the 2026 Northern Utah Wildland Engine Training (NUWET), where firefighters from multiple agencies sharpened their wildland tactics and strategies through hands-on training exercises.

We also joined in a large scale Wildfire Simulation Exercise hosted by Powder Mountain alongside partners from the U.S. Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Power, Enbridge Gas, Emergency Management, and Powder Mountain staff.

Participants worked through a realistic wildfire scenario that included coordinated incident response, evacuations, unified incident management, interagency communication, and safe utility operations during a wildfire event.

These trainings strengthen the skills, partnerships, and coordination needed to effectively protect our communities, natural resources, and critical infrastructure during wildfire season.

No Single Agency Can Manage a Large Wildfire alone.

🚒 Train Together.
🤝 Partner Together.
🌲 Protect Together.
