Fire Restrictions 101 🔥

Northern Utah has received several rainstorms recently, which has many people asking: Can we burn now? When will Stage 2 fire restrictions be lifted?

The short answer: There isn’t a set date—and yes, Stage 2 restrictions are still in effect.

Fire restrictions are based on the overall conditions, not just recent rainfall. Interagency fire officials consider:
🍂 Live fuel moisture
⛈️ Recent precipitation
🌡️ Temperature
💧 Humidity
💨 Wind and weather forecasts
🔥 Current fire activity
🚒 Available firefighting resources

Restrictions help prevent human-caused fires, reduce risks to communities, homes, visitors, and firefighters, and protect recreation areas, wildlife habitat, and watersheds.

Please continue to follow all Stage 2 restrictions and know before you go.

Visit UtahFireInfo.gov for current restrictions and maps.

🚨 INCIDENT UPDATE 🚨

AUGUST 7, 2026
FARR WEST, UTAH

At approximately 6:50 p.m., Weber Fire District, along with automatic aid agencies, were dispatched to a structure fire in the area of 2250 West in Farr West, Weber County, Utah.

Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of a single-story residence. Crews made a fast, aggressive attack, quickly getting water on the fire and making a good stop. Vertical ventilation was completed to release heat and smoke from the structure.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Unfortunately, pets were inside the residence. Crews located and safely removed the animals and immediately began resuscitation efforts. The pets were transported for further treatment; their current condition is unknown.

One firefighter was transported for evaluation, treated, and released.

Crews will remain on scene monitoring the structure. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Weber Fire District Fire Marshal’s Office.

Weber Fire District would like to express its sincere appreciation to our partner agencies for their quick response and assistance during this incident, including:
🔴 Roy City Fire Department
🔴 North View Fire District
🔴 Riverdale City Fire Department
🔴 Ogden City Fire Department
🔴 Hill Air Force Base Fire & Emergency
🔵 Weber County Sheriff’s Office
🟡 Weber Area Dispatch 911

“We go through and do an all clear of the structure, trying to make sure there is nobody in there, whether it’s people or animals. We were searching for anything alive in the house.” ~ Battalion Chief 61, Casey Naef.

FIREWORK RESTRICTIONS - UPDATED (7/22/26-7/25/26)

Governor Cox’s Executive Order 2026-04 remains in effect following the declaration of a State of Emergency due to extreme wildfire conditions across Utah. The EO temporarily suspends portions of UT Code 53-7-224 and allows the State Forester to implement expanded fireworks restrictions where wildfire conditions pose an extreme risk.

Fireworks are already prohibited on:
🔴All unincorporated Weber County lands

Exceptions
The current restrictions allow only the following exceptions:
