Important information for tomorrow night's football game.

Tomorrow night's Festus Tigers vs St. Mary's Dragons football game will be played at St. Mary's South Side Catholic High School, at 4701 S. Grand Boulevard.

There is no cash on site and students must have a school issued ID in order to buy tickets at the gate. It is highly recommended that you buy your ticket in advance at the link below. Gates open at 6pm. Bags will be inspected.

We've made a few small changes to our live streams this year. ALL athletic live streams can now be found on Hudl TV. You can find them 2 ways. 1) Visit our website, festus.k12.mo.us. The click on "Livestreams" at the top of the page. Select Athletic livestreams. 2) Visit fan.hudl.com, then search for "Festus High School."

Other live streams such as concerts or hallway "parades" that we choose to live stream, will continue to be found on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/FestusRVISchoolDistrict) or on our District page (festus.k12.mo.us) under "Livestreams" click on "YouTube Livestreams."

Tonight's the night. Come be a part of the first ever Festus Alumni Tiger Tailgate before tonight's season opening football game against the Rockwood Summit Falcons. There will be burgers, chips, cookies, soda and water. Hang out with former classmates and fellow alumni before the game. It starts at 5:30 behind the Elementary School in the Tiger Stadium parking lot.

Our first ever Festus Alumni Tiger Tailgate is coming up this Friday at 5:30pm. Come for some food and visit with former classmates and fellow Alumni. It will be held in the Tiger Stadium parking lot, behind the elementary school. Then stay for the season opener, when the Tigers take on the Rockwood Summit Falcons at 7pm. Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow is our first Late Start Wednesday of the year. The elementary, intermediate, middle and high schools start 1 hour later than normal. All buses for those schools also run 1 hour later.

The Early Childhood Center and its buses will operate on their normal schedules.

Kids love anything that moves. That's the purpose of the annual "Things That Go!" event. It's being held on Saturday, September 19th from 10am - Noon at Haggard Park, by Kade's Playground in Herculaneum. Kids will have the opportunity to see construction equipment, race cars, fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, helicopters and much more, all up close and personal. There is no cost to attend and parking is free. We'll see you on September 19th. It is sponsored by Parents and Teachers and the City of Herculaneum.

The Festus R-VI School District welcomes Abby Carpenter, the new director of the Festus, Crystal City, Dunklin, Jefferson R-7 Parents as Teachers. She will oversee the talented group of Parent Educators who work with families in the four school districts.

Parents as Teachers was founded in Missouri in 1984. It is a free parent education and family support program serving families from pregnancy to kindergarten.

Parents as Teachers involves four different components:
💠Home Visits – a parent educator will visit your home and will share age-
appropriate child development and parenting information. That parent educator
will also help you learn to observe your child and address any parenting concerns
you have.
💠Screenings – Through Parents As Teachers you have access to tools to help you
assess your child’s overall developmental and social-emotional growth. You also
have access to health, hearing and vision screenings.
💠Group Connections – Parents As Teachers offers events for your family to share fun
learning experiences together or learn more about parenting topics. You will
connect with other families with children the same age.
💠Resource Network – Parents As Teachers will link your family to other community
resources.

Parents who qualify for WIC or Free or Reduced School Lunch receive FREE diapers
& books at each visit.
