Voters approved the Station 12 bond measure in the Aug. 4 election, allowing Pierce County Fire District 10 to move forward with plans for a new station designed to improve firefighter health and safety, support faster emergency response, and better serve our community for decades to come.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to learn about the proposal and participate in the election. As the project moves forward, we'll continue to share updates and keep our community informed every step of the way.

Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 4. If you haven't returned your ballot yet, now is the time.

You can return your ballot at the official drop box located at Fife City Hall (5411 23rd St. E). Ballots must be postmarked by Aug. 4 or returned to an official drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Our first community Q&A session is coming soon!

If you'd like to learn more about the proposed fire station bond before returning your ballot, join us this Tuesday at 6 pm at Station 12 (2015 54th Ave. E in Fife). District leadership will explain the proposal, discuss the current station and answer questions in an informal setting.

The fire station serving Fife was built more than 70 years ago and wasn't designed for today's emergency response needs.

From apparatus bays that are too small for modern fire engines to firefighter health and safety concerns, district leaders say the aging facility creates challenges that newer stations are designed to address.
