Earlier this month, Dickey County Extension hosted a From Barn to Ring Livestock Camp to help 4-Hers get ready for showing and caring for their animals. One Sargent County 4-Her, Kylie B, went with her rabbit Sprinkles. There she learned proper rabbit care, handling techniques, grooming, and showmanship skills. Kylie's mom reported that she came home so excited to tell her all that she had learned. Thank you NDSU Extension - Dickey County for your hard work and dedication to 4-Hers statewide!

Thank you to all who came out to the Forman Farmer's Market yesterday! NDSU Extension had lots of great gardening and horticulture information and a craft for kids. Thank you to one of our Sargent County Ambassadors, Autumn, for her help with the crafts.

Please help us welcome Sargent County's New Administrative Assistant and 4-H Program Assistant, Tavie Guzman!

Tavie was a 4-H member for 11 years in Clark County, South Dakota. She showed lambs, hogs, and her favorite, market and breeding meat goats. While showing, she grew a passion for livestock judging. One of her greatest memories throughout her 4-H experience was participating on the SD 4-H State Livestock Judging Team her senior year. There they placed 7th as a team and she placed 18th individually! She attended Lake Area Technical College studying Agriculture Business.

Tavie enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, and crafting. She is most excited to get to know the 4-Hers and their families, as well as, seeing the joy the 4-H program brought to her pass on to future generations.

Attention 4-Hers showing Livestock: Dickey County will be hosting their From Barn to Ring camp on June 8-11th at the Dickey County Fairgrounds in Ellendale, ND. Cost is $50 for the whole camp or you can attend specific sessions/days for discounted prices. Classes will include: Livestock Quality Assurance (LQA) certification, Rabbit/Poultry, Sheep-Breeding, Sheep-Market, Swine, Goat, and Beef. Registration is due by June 1st.
