What a great way to wrap up our final assembly before summer break! ☀️📚🎨

We were excited to welcome Mrs. Toni LeFevre from the public library to share information about this summer’s reading program and all of the fun activities happening at the library throughout the summer. Be sure to check your child’s papers coming home for more information about how to participate and keep reading all summer long!

We also celebrated our talented first and second grade students who participated in the VFW coloring contest. Congratulations to all of the students who received awards for their creativity and hard work, and thanks to Mr. Ken Lamm for coming to present the awards.

Finally, we recognized students who demonstrated our May character trait: Creativity — using your imagination to create something new or solve a problem. We are proud of the many ways our students show creative thinking both inside and outside of the classroom each day.

Thank you to our community partners for helping make this assembly so special. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and creative summer! 💙💛

Our 4th graders recently explored the world of entrepreneurship by creating their own student-run stores and selling products to the students. Along the way, they learned valuable lessons about creativity, teamwork, budgeting, marketing, and customer service.

Their hard work and innovation paid off in a big way. Together, they raised $1,000 to purchase new books for our school library! We're so proud of their effort, leadership, and generosity in giving back to our school community. Shout out to Mrs. Dues for leading them in this project!

Yesterday, the police department dropped off cookies donated by Casey’s for our third graders to enjoy today. The cookies were a fun way to celebrate being safe by wearing seatbelts—something our third graders recently learned about during a visit from the police department. Fort Recovery Police Department

In Science class, the fourth grade students have been learning about how ecosystems change. Recently, they planted their own grassland ecosystem as an enclosed terrarium to observe how an ecosystem needs both biotic and abiotic factors to survive. Students also completed 2 experiments where they saw the effects of Ohio settlers changing the wetlands, and they saw the impact of an oil spill in the ocean.

What a fun assembly today celebrating courage and learning about creativity! We were able to honor so many kids who showed courage this month - choosing what is helpful, right, and kind - even when it is hard or scary. Our middle school friends taught us about our final word for the year, creativity.
