* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Kennebec County in south central Maine... Knox County in south central Maine... Waldo County in south central Maine... Southeastern Somerset County in west central Maine... Northeastern Lincoln County in south central Maine...

* Until 230 PM EDT.

* At 137 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Thorndike to near Augusta, moving southeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Augusta, Waterville, Rockland, Belfast, Fairfield, Camden, Lincolnville, Oakland, Searsport, Thorndike, Pittsfield, China, Clinton, Belgrade, Liberty, Winterport, Palermo, Unity, Warren, and Stockton Springs.

This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 115 and 145.

This also includes... Moose Point State Park.

Details

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Coastal Waldo, Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, and Coastal Cumberland Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures will only fall into the 70s, resulting in accumulated heat stress.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

We are saddened to hear of the Passing of a longtime Firefighter of The West Frankfort Fire Dept. EMS Instuctor and EMS Chief of Multiple Services!! Adrian Stone we will miss you, you leave many memories behind between Family, Friends, coworkers, and your First Responder Families!! You were always there to help and by reading a lot of post that are being written tonight you have touched many people and we all are Greatful to have known you!! We extend our Sympathy to your Family and Our Brothers and Sisters at The West Frankfort Fire Department!! Thoughts and Prayers!!

The Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department sends our thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, and fellow firefighters of Assistant Chief Wayne Woodbury of the Searsmont Fire Department.

Assistant Chief Woodbury passed away this morning as a result of injuries sustained during the tragic explosion at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont on May 15, 2026. Assistant Chief Woodbury had been receiving treatment at Maine Medical Center in Portland since the incident.

Rest In Peace Chief.

Videos sent from Homeowner who said I could share from this mornings call from The Meta "VR" Goggles exploding!! The night stand is about 14 feet from the stairs and stairs are about 15' long just to give you an idea how bad this was. The video in the Comments shows the Fire flash and a piece on Fire sent downstairs
