Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances, this mowing operations and one-way reversing traffic control will now take place Monday, July 27th from 7:30am to 2:00pm.

COALINGA —The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Cal Valley Construction, announces the following schedule update in part of the State Route 33 Pavement Rehabilitation Project in the City of Coalinga.

The following will occur Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm, beginning July 22nd:

• The contractor will begin the rehabilitation of the eastbound lanes of Polk Street between 5th Street and Thompson Street by excavating and repaving the existing roadway.
• To perform the roadway rehabilitation, the contractor will be closing the eastbound lanes of Polk Street and utilizing one way reversing traffic control along the westbound lanes of Polk Street during the scheduled work hours.
o Traffic will be held at flagging stations located at just west of 5th Street and at the top of the bridge deck just west of Merced Avenue.
• Access to Polk Street from the southern side will be closed at the following intersections:
o Warthan Street, Hachman Street, Garfield Street, and Thompson Street
• After the scheduled work hours, both westbound and eastbound traffic will utilize the westbound lanes where temporary striping will be placed to control traffic in both directions.
Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel, stay behind the pilot vehicle, and pay close attention to road maintenance vehicles.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.

Caltrans Construction personnel remind you to drive with extra care and allow additional travel time while travelling in the construction area. Please be alert for Road Construction Personnel and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

FRESNO COUNTY —The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Viking Construction, announces the following schedule update in part of the State Route 168 Shaver Lake Viaduct Project in Fresno County.

The following will occur Thursday, July 23rd at 11:00am:

• The contractor will perform controlled blasting operations along the hillside of State Route 168 within the project limits in continuation with work site preparation.
• During the blasting operations, the contractor will hold and manage traffic along State Route 168 utilizing one lane reversing traffic control.
o After the blasting, the contractor will continue to hold traffic until debris is cleared and roadway is safe to open to the travelling public.
o Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur. Commuters are advised to plan accordingly.

ACTUALIZACIÓN DEL PROYECTO PARA CONTRUIR UN VIADUCTO A LO LARGO DE LA RUTA ESTATAL 168 CERCA DEL SHAVER LAKE

CONDADO DE FRESNO – El Departamento de Transportación, (Caltrans), en cooperación con Viking Construction, anuncia la siguiente actualización del proyecto por la Ruta Estatal 168 en Shaver Lake Para Construir un Viaducto.

Ocurrirá lo siguiente el jueves, 23 de julio a las 11:00am:

• El contratista llevará a cabo operaciones de voladura controlada a lo largo de la ladera de la Ruta Estatal 168, dentro de los límites del proyecto, como continuación de los trabajos de preparación del sitio.
• Durante las operaciones de voladura, el contratista retendrá y gestionará el tráfico por la Ruta Estatal 168 mediante un sistema de control de tráfico alterno en un solo carril.
o Tras la voladura, el contratista continuará reteniendo el tráfico hasta que se retiren los escombros y la calzada sea segura para su apertura al público.
o Se recuerda a los conductores que deben obedecer al personal de señalización y prestar mucha atención a los vehículos y al personal de las obras viales.
Las clausuras pueden continuar por períodos más largos causados por el clima o eventos fuera de nuestro control. Se aconseja a los conductores planificar en consecuencia.

The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Granite Construction, announces a long-term closure of the northbound State Route 99 loop on-ramp at Caldwell Avenue in Tulare County, as part of construction operations in advance of the Caldwell Avenue Interchange Project.

The following is now in effect:

• The northbound State Route 99 loop on-ramp from Caldwell Avenue is now closed.
o A temporary on-ramp to northbound SR 99 is available to traffic utilizing Drive 85B on the north side of Caldwell Avenue.
o This configuration is expected to be in effect for through late 2028 following the completion of the new on-ramp as part of the Caldwell Avenue Interchange Project.
