Join us for The Power of Promise Luncheon, Family Promise of Gainesville's annual fundraising event, on Thursday, September 24, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gainesville Woman's Club.

This inspiring afternoon will celebrate the power of hope, resilience, and community while raising critical funds to help families experiencing homelessness in our community. You'll hear a powerful story of transformation from one of our former program participants and learn how, together, we can continue creating lasting change.

We already have the backpacks—now we just need your help filling them!

Family Promise of Gainesville is preparing 65 backpacks for the children in our programs so they can head back to school with the supplies they need to succeed. A few simple school supplies can make a big difference in helping a child start the school year feeling prepared and confident.

We've created an Amazon Wishlist to make giving easy. Simply choose an item, and it will be shipped directly to us to be included in one of our backpacks.

I had someone in my office yesterday that was really disheartened that we are less than a month away from back to school and they have less than no money to get school supplies or new clothes for their child. 43% of homeless students report “not having clean clothes or supplies “ as a reason for absences…. please drop off school supplies at 229 SW 5th street M-Thu 9-4. We have the backpacks! We just need folders, pencils, pens, notebooks etc. Or checkout our Amazon wishlist!

Massive turnout for the job fair at St. Patrick’s school sponsored and organized by Better Together. And people were HIRED ON THE SPOT today! Organizing a job fair is extremely difficult and time-consuming… Organizing a job fair where people actually get hired is an unbelievable feat!! At least 400 people came out today which should show our community and our leaders the massive need for employment and more importantly, for living wage jobs. We are constantly helping our participants at Family Promise apply for jobs and so often it’s for jobs that pay $13-$15 an hour… Or at places that are incentivized to keep you under 30 hours a week… We really need to come together as a community to figure out how to fill this need for living wage jobs… Today was a huge first step!!! 💕💕💕💕
