I’m starting to see why ppl put refreshments & etc out for delivery drivers…. It’s not to be nice🫣; it’s so that they don’t do THIS😫. .. to make sure they actually bring your things in to the porch etc. because riddle me this🤔… my new home’s SCREENED IN PORCH, is at least a mile long…… but you don’t go up 3 steps to place my belongings safely inside so they don’t get taken because their easily seen, can get rained on etc. ugh.

Then, what makes it worse, it’s not even open yet! So no one is even occupying it. So now I need to drive wayyyy across town, when I just left from working on the home all day mind you 🥴, to bring a package 3 steps inside 😫😭🥴.

Lord give me the strength lol. They are so lucky I love what I do! If I told you guys HALF of what I actually deal with as the director of shares living homes, I’d bet money you’d think I’m crazy to keep doing what I do 🥹😅.
But I say all that to say,
AMAZON DO BETTER😆😭

Unpopular Opinion: One of the smartest decisions you can make is to walk away from chaos you never should have engaged in the first place. 🤝🏾

POV: You came to for housing… but accidentally gained a whole support system too 😂🏡🫂

Somewhere between move-in day and everyday life, my long term guests become family fr. From serious life conversations to random debates about why boiled eggs are apparently “terrifying” 😭🥚

This is one of my long-term program members and he’s come so far. I’m so proud of him every day. From enrolling in school and working towards getting his GED, to working on passing his driving exam to get his license for the first time in life. Then it’s moments like this that are exactly why I love what I do.

Shared living is about way more than just a place to stay. It’s community, comfort, healing, support, and being able to laugh again. 💙

And yes… he is genuinely deathly afraid of boiled eggs 😂

POV: The little girl who used to dream big… finally grew up and bought the tools to build the life she prayed for. 🥹🫂

Every new purchase for my business reminds me how far I’ve come. From surviving… to really building something. One step, one investment, one risk at a time.

And honestly… all my life I always wanted an iPad 😩 I was never an “iPad kid” growing up. I had LeapFrog, flash cards, and watched a lot of other kids open the gifts I wished for at Christmas. So now that I’m older, I don’t mind spoiling myself a little when it comes to things that help me grow, heal, and build the life I always wanted for myself. 🫶

As an adult… PLEASE learn how to use your credit 😭

This isn’t to “flex.” this is genuinely one of the biggest things I’m proud of myself for. years ago I couldn’t imagine being able to walk into a store and comfortably get the things I need for my business without stressing or draining my bank account.

Good credit changed so much for me.

Having strong credit and high limits doesn’t mean go blow money irresponsibly. it means having OPTIONS, leverage, flexibility, emergency protection, business tools, and access.

Today it was my iPad, Apple Pencil, and keyboard for my business… tomorrow it could be an emergency, an investment opportunity, travel, or something bigger.

People really underestimate how much your credit affects your life until they start building it.

One thing I wish more people understood about shared living is this:

The paperwork side matters just as much as the housing side.

Everybody focuses on getting the property… but nobody talks enough about what actually keeps the home protected and structured once people move in.

Things like:
• agreements
• policies
• incident reports
• onboarding forms
• expectations
• documentation

Those things matter MORE than people realize.

Because shared living isn’t just renting rooms. You’re managing an environment, and structure is what keeps everything organized and professional. 🤝🏾

This is one of the hardest conversations I have in shared living.

Not because I don’t want to help… but because sometimes I care too much to put someone in a position that realistically is not sustainable for them long term.

I’ve had people apply making very low fixed incomes, and while technically they may be able to pay a portion… after basic living expenses, they’d be left with almost nothing.

And that honestly weighs on me sometimes.

Because this business was never about taking advantage of vulnerable people for me.

I genuinely want people to become MORE stable after moving in… not less.

And sometimes that means having difficult conversations or telling someone they may need additional income, assistance, or a different solution first.

People think this business is only about money, but situations like this remind me every day that real people are attached to every decision.

I truly wish affordable housing was easier for people right now 🫂🏡

CEO fit check before conducting another home tour 🤝🏡

Still surreal that I went from having an idea… to now walking people through homes I operate myself. Sometimes I have to pause and really thank God for how far this business has come.

One thing about shared living, it’s way more than posting a room online. It’s leadership, structure, problem solving, networking, marketing, and showing up professionally every single day.

Just a business woman out here helping change lives one move-in at a time 🫂
