In celebration of renowned author/illustrator Virginia Lee Burton and the upcoming anniversary of her August 31 birthday, there will be a special screening of the award-winning documentary film Virginia Lee Burton: A Sense of Place, produced by Christine Lundberg.

A collaboration of the Cape Ann Museum, the Sawyer Free Library and 1623 Studios, the screening will take place on Friday, August 28 at 3PM in the Community Room of the Sawyer Free Library. Register on our website!

Teens and tweens, you're invited to express yourselves through words AND art! Join Tia for a fun and relaxing Paint & Journal workshop. Participants will decorate their own journals, respond to simple journal prompts, and then create a guided painting together. No art or writing experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. At the end of the workshop, participants will take home their journal and finished painting!
