Today, we pause to remember Deputy Marcus Whitfield, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on August 13, 1999.

No amount of time can lessen the loss of one of our own. While his End of Watch marked a heartbreaking day for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, his legacy has never stopped living on.

Each year, we honor Marcus by carrying forward one of his greatest passions: building positive relationships between law enforcement and the youth in our community through the Marcus Whitfield Camp. Every smile, every lesson, and every connection made is a reflection of the kind of deputy and person he was.

Though his watch ended 27 years ago, his influence continues to shape lives and inspire those who wear the badge today.

Gone, but never forgotten. 🖤💙🖤

🚨🚲Remember that post we made a few weeks ago about confiscating bikes and scooters that get left behind? Well today is the day! All bikes and scooters left on campus are getting tagged TODAY!

If you are staying on campus over summer break and your bike or scooter gets tagged, it MUST be properly secured. This means the bike or scooter MUST be locked to a designated bike rack. Any tagged bikes or scooters that are not secured in a timely manner will be confiscated.

Please make sure your property is locked up to avoid removal. 🔒

Our hearts are broken over the tragic loss of Greenville Police Department Sgt. Ashley Munoz, who was among the five lives taken in an overnight crash in Spartanburg County. Many of us here at FUPD had the honor of knowing her, working beside her, and calling her a friend. Ashley was deeply loved, and her loss is being felt throughout the entire law enforcement community.

We also ask for continued prayers for her partner, a fellow Greenville PD Sergeant, who was seriously injured in the crash and is currently fighting for her life.

Please keep their families, children, friends, and fellow officers lifted in prayer during this unimaginable time. We also ask for prayers for all members of the law enforcement community as we mourn alongside Greenville PD.

Rest easy, Sergeant Munoz. Your service, sacrifice, and impact will never be forgotten. 💙🖤
