We are sad to see Mrs. Jennifer leave but know she will be an amazing principal at South Cameron!

Mrs. Jennifer Murrell will be leading South Cameron High School as their new Principal. Mrs. Murrell is a proud 1999 graduate of South Cameron High School who is honored to return to lead her alma mater .

Mrs. Murrell brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for student success, backed by serving many students during her 22- years as an educator. She spent eleven years dedicated to teaching in Calcasieu Parish before returning home to serve the students and families in Cameron Parish. In Cameron Parish, she gained valuable experience as an educator by teaching multiple grade levels at Grand Lake High School, serving as the parish-wide ELA curriculum coordinator, and supporting Hackberry High School as the assistant principal.

Mrs. Jennifer’s deep roots in our community, combined with her leadership capabilities, make her qualified to help South Cameron High School to continue to grow. She believes in the educators, students, and families and is fully invested in the success of South Cameron High School.

Mrs. Murrell looks forward to an incredible year. Go Tarpons!

Congratulations Mrs. Lindsey Fontenot!!

The Cameron Parish School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey Fontenot as the district's new Data Manager, Assessment & Accountability Supervisor, and Certification Supervisor.

Mrs. Fontenot brings 17 years of dedicated service to the Cameron Parish School System and a wealth of educational leadership experience. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles, including teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district supervisor for Early Childhood and Mathematics. Her extensive knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school leadership has made a lasting impact on students, staff, and schools across the parish.

Most recently, Mrs. Fontenot served as Principal of South Cameron High School, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership and a steadfast commitment to student success. While she will be greatly missed by the South Cameron High School family, the district is excited to welcome her back to the School Board Office in this new leadership capacity.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Fontenot on her new role and wishing her continued success as she supports the students, educators, and schools of Cameron Parish.

Our busiest duck of the summer is Sprinkle Scrubbubble!!

First, she went to the Hackberry library to make a Father’s Day craft ❤️
Then, she had a sweet time at Pronia’s MSU🧁 decorating camp 💙💛
Next, she decided to go to a gymnastics camp today 🤸

I wonder where she will go next!!
