The Hammond Police Department is proud to recognize this year’s “Cops and Students Stand Together Against Bullying” representatives from Burns-Hicks Elementary School:

Le’Aniyah Wise – 6th Grade
Efrain Regalado – 5th Grade

These outstanding students were selected for demonstrating kindness, leadership, and respect toward others both inside and outside the classroom.

“Bullying prevention starts with students who are willing to stand up for one another and lead by example,” said Lt. Gonzalez, who oversees the program for the Hammond Police Department. “Le’Aniyah and Efrain represent the very best of their school and their community.”

“We are incredibly proud of these students for showing compassion and courage every day,” said Burns-Hicks Elementary Principal Melinda Hawkins. “They are wonderful role models for their classmates.”

Congratulations to both students on this well-deserved recognition!
