💨☀️ As the school year came to a close, students in Mr. Gulling’s Watt Works Maymester course explored the mathematics and science behind some of today’s most popular forms of green energy. Students studied the anatomy of a wind turbine and put their engineering skills to the test by designing wind turbines capable of generating enough voltage to power a small LED bulb. 🩶

The winning group created a windmill that generated an impressive 3.76 volts - enough power to light two LED bulbs! Students also investigated solar energy and discovered how thermal energy from the sun can be harnessed using a solar oven to cook s’mores.

What a fun and engaging way for students to apply science, math, and problem-solving skills before the end of the school year!

After months of hard work, dedication, and competition, we are proud to announce that Maddie Granatir, Ellie Richards, Mimi Ault, and Leila Sudvary are heading to the American Paint Horse Association World Championship Show this June in Fort Worth, Texas! 🖤🩶

Our Edison FFA Equine Team earned its spot after an incredible season that included competing against more than 100 teams across Ohio and bringing home Edison’s first state banner in decades. Through the Equine Management pathway, these students have developed valuable skills in judging, public speaking, teamwork, leadership, and agriculture.

We are incredibly proud of these Wildcats for representing Edison Local Schools on the national level and cannot wait to see all they accomplish in Texas. Congratulations and good luck! 🐴✨
