Water service to this area will be turned off at 9:00 a.m. while the repair is completed.

West Hazen Residents:

We are currently repairing a fire hydrant on 8th Ave. Due to the repair, water service has had to be temporarily shut off on several streets beyond 8th Ave. this afternoon.

Water service will be restored as soon as the repair is completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Northeast Hazen residents, please be aware of what you are flushing into the sewer system. We have experienced sewer problems this week due to rags and other materials being flushed into the system.

Please remember: ONLY flush toilet paper and human waste.

🚫 Do NOT flush:
• Paper towels
• Rags
• Wipes
• Feminine hygiene products
• Other items or materials
🧻 When in doubt, throw it out!

Please help us keep Hazen’s sewer system running smoothly by only flushing toilet paper and human waste.

The Public Hearing and subsequent Steering Committee Meeting to review and accept comments on the DRAFT 2026 Mercer-Oliver Counties, ND, Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan will be held tonight from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Oliver County Courthouse in Center, North Dakota.

The meeting is open to the public.

Highway 200 Bypass Roadwork

Beginning August 18, 2026, the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) will begin road repairs on Highway 200 in Hazen, from the railroad tracks on the east end of town to Main Street W at Krause’s.
During the project: • Traffic on Highway 200 will be reduced to one lane and controlled by a pilot car. • Intersection of Birch Avenue and Highway 200, Intersection of Ash Avenue and Highway 200, and Intersection of 6th Avenue NE and Highway 200 will be closed to all traffic. • Approximately 2–3 days after August 18, Intersection of 9th Avenue NW and Highway 200, and Intersection of Antelope Drive and Highway 200 will also be closed to all traffic. Please plan accordingly, allow extra time for travel, and use caution in the construction area. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these repairs are completed.
