Happy National Dog Day, TLSD Billy! Keep doing amazing things. ♥️

🐶🐾 It’s National Dog Day — and Captain Billy is ready to celebrate!

Every year on August 26, National Dog Day celebrates our four-legged companions and the joy, comfort and companionship they bring into our lives. 🐾

Today, the New Orleans Fire Department is celebrating a very special member of our department family — Captain Billy, NOFD’s Crisis Response K-9! ❤️

From headquarters to the firehouse and throughout the department, Captain Billy brings comfort, companionship and plenty of smiles wherever he goes.

As the NOFD’s Crisis Response K-9, Captain Billy provides a welcoming presence and opportunities for members of our department to pause, connect and recharge.

Since joining the NOFD in 2025 through Thin Line Service Dogs, Captain Billy has become a much-loved member of the NOFD family.

🐾 He may have four paws, but he has a big role in our department.

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate ALL dogs and the amazing ways they make our world better. ❤️

Some are search and rescue heroes, using their incredible noses to find those who are lost. Some are agility stars, showing off their speed, focus, and determination. Some are working dogs, while others have the very important job of being our pets, companions, and best friends.

And some are destined for a special life of service. Service dogs are trained to provide support, independence, comfort, and confidence to those who need them most.

Different jobs. Different paths. One incredible gift—the ability to make a difference simply by being a dog. ❤️

Today, we celebrate every dog and all the love, loyalty, and joy they bring into our lives!

TLSD Eleanor joined Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Recruit Class 50 at the end of their trauma presentation today—a powerful reminder of why support matters.

As these recruits prepare to serve, they are learning about the difficult and traumatic situations they may encounter on calls. First responders can witness things that stay with them long after the call is over. Crisis response dogs like Eleanor can provide comfort, a calming presence, and a safe moment to decompress after experiencing the realities of the job.

We’re proud to have Eleanor there to remind these future first responders that they don’t have to carry it all alone. 💪♥️

🦪🐾 DAY 2 at the Milford Oyster Festival — and Moose has arrived! 🐾🦪

Judge officially has some backup! 💙 TLSD Moose has joined Judge in Milford, Connecticut, and these two are already making plenty of new friends!

From hanging out with the incredible Milford Fire Department and meeting members of the Milford Police Department, to getting lots of love from festival-goers, Judge and Moose are having a pretty great Day 2. 🐕‍🦺🚒🚓

And of course, when there’s a bucket full of tennis balls nearby… you know our boys are going to find it! 🎾😂

We continue to be incredibly humbled by the welcome Thin Line Service Dogs has received here in Milford. A huge THANK YOU to Milford Fire for fundraising for TLSD during the Oyster Festival and for giving Judge and Moose the opportunity to spend time with the first responders and community we are so proud to serve. 💙

This is what our mission is all about — connection, community, and Serving Those Who Serve Us. 🇺🇸

🦪🚒🐾 Judge is getting ready for the Milford Oyster Festival!

Looks like Judge is officially part of the crew! 💙

Judge has been spending some time with Milford Fire Department as they prepare for the Milford Oyster Festival — and he even got geared up in his Milford Professional Firefighters Local 944 shirt!

We are incredibly humbled, honored, and grateful that Milford Fire has chosen to fundraise for Thin Line Service Dogs during the festival. Support like this helps make it possible for us to continue providing highly trained service dogs and crisis response canines to the veterans and first responders who need them.

To the men and women of Milford Fire: thank you for believing in our mission, welcoming Judge, and helping us continue Serving Those Who Serve Us. 🇺🇸🐕‍🦺
