May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and we’re using this month to spotlight an often-missed conversation: epilepsy in AAPI communities.

Epilepsy affects people across every background, but stigma, language barriers, and limited culturally informed care can make it harder for AAPI individuals and families to get support.

At the Epilepsy Foundation of Hawai‘i, we’re committed to education, resources, and community that honors the diversity of our islands.

💜 If you or someone you love is living with epilepsy: you’re not alone.

Mahalo for your support of our Sophia Collection Crown of Strength bag. 🤍

We are pleased to share that the Sophia Collection has officially gone into production. Because custom production takes several months, the estimated arrival timeline is August 2026 and we anticipate having the bags available in time for distribution at our Freedom Walk/Run on August 2, 2026.

As we celebrate 55 years of hope and heart, your support helps us continue empowering individuals and families affected by epilepsy across Hawaiʻi. We'll continue to keep you updated as we move closer to delivery. 💜

Today is World Autism Awareness Day! Did you know that about 20-30% of autistic children will develop epilepsy by childhood?

Epilepsy and autism co-occur more often than most people realize, and the families carrying both deserve so much more support and visibility.

To every caregiver, parent, and warrior holding it all together, we see you. 💜 Drop a heart below if you or someone you love knows this journey.
