Your student’s future doesn’t start senior year. At YES Prep, we begin building the foundation early. 🎓

Students can begin their journey at a YES Prep elementary school and continue into our secondary schools, creating a pathway that grows with them. As they get older, students receive personalized college advising, explore careers through hands-on experiences and have opportunities to earn college credit before graduation.

It’s an intentional approach designed to help students discover what’s possible and prepare for what comes next.

Today, we proudly recognize the dedicated Teacher Assistants who help keep NCE moving forward each and every day. From welcoming our SPARKS and unloading cars in the morning to supervising breakfast and lunch, preparing materials, printing resources, creating visuals and beautiful bulletin boards, and supporting our teachers in countless ways—you do it all with patience, flexibility, and heart.

You step in when teachers are absent, cover classrooms, lunches, and breaks, and provide comfort and encouragement when a student is having a difficult day. You are also right there cheering, celebrating, and sharing in the joy when our SPARKS have a great day! Even during dismissal, through the Houston heat, pouring rain, or sunshine, you continue showing up with dedication and a smile.

Your work may happen in many different places and sometimes behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout our entire campus. You help our students feel safe, supported, celebrated, and loved—and you give our teachers the support they need to succeed.

Congratulations to North Central Elementary fourth-grade bilingual math teacher Diego Roman, a 2026 Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award winner! 🎉

We have an exciting and important week ahead, SPARKS families! Testing will continue throughout the week, so please help your student arrive at school on time, well-rested, and ready to do their very best.

Join us for our **Ready, Set, Grow Open House on Thursday, September 24, from 4:30–6:00 PM**. Thursday is also **Teacher Assistant Appreciation Day!** To help families celebrate our amazing Teacher Assistants, we have included a list of their favorite snacks, drinks, colors, supplies, and more below for gift inspiration. A handwritten note, drawing, or small gift is always appreciated, but participation is completely optional.

Finally, please remember that there will be **no school on Friday, September 25**. We look forward to a wonderful week of learning, celebration, and family partnership!
