Ellington Airport & Houston Spaceport

Ellington Airport is Houston's oldest airport.

Owned and managed by the Houston Airport System, Houston Spaceport is co-located at Ellington Airport in the heart of Space City. Ellington Airport was acquired by the City of Houston in 1984 and now supports the operations of the United States military, NASA, and a variety of general aviation tenants. The airport is home to the annual Wings Over Houston Airshow and is also the place where many of the astronauts from the world-renowned Johnson Space Center receive their ongoing space training.

Saturday was a historic day for Texas Southern University. We cut the ribbon on our aviation program’s new home: Texas Southern University at Houston Spaceport. This new 20,000 square foot hangar now houses our new fleet of aircraft. It also has 4,500 square feet of classroom space and an 8,000 gallon fuel tank.
