This Friday, August 14, at 8:30 am, Briarmeadow students will parade through the foyer in a celebration of a great summer and a kick off to the new academic year. ☀️ 🏝️ ✈️ Students are invited to wear fun summer-themed clothes—such as Hawaiian shirts, travel shirts, shorts, flip flops, sunglasses. Parents are welcome to attend in the foyer, where classes will parade in celebration of a great summer!

Completing the annual Volunteer Interest Form (VIPS) is *not* required to attend the parade. However, all adults who wish to visit campus during the year as a classroom helper, lunch chaperone, field trip chaperone or other student-involved activities need to complete this form annually: https://www.houstonisd.org/community-partnerships/volunteer-with-hisd

Families, beginning this year, Briarmeadow and more than 30 additional HISD schools will no longer participate in the free lunch program as part of the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

Students attending Briarmeadow must have an approved Meal Benefits Application on file to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch benefits. Breakfast is free for all HISD students, regardless of meal eligibility. Families may submit a Meal Benefits Application through SchoolCafĂŠ.

All students who plan to use the lunch served by the school need to create an account in SchoolCafe, where you can allot funds to your student to purchase daily meals.

Additionally, HISD encourages all families to complete an application, even if they are unsure whether they qualify. Read more about completing a Meal Benefits Application here: https://www.houstonisd.org/families-students/nutrition-services/student-meals-overview

PLEASE NOTE: To create a SchoolCafe account, you will need your student’s HISD Student ID. If your student or you do not know the Student ID please find the School Services tables at Meet the Teacher Night this Friday. August 7. New families may arrive for Meet the Teacher at 3:30 pm. Returning families are invited to join at 4:30 pm.
