YES Prep Southwest Secondary

Yes Prep Southwest is a public charter school in the Hiram Clark area of Houston. We are believers and achievers who prove what's possible in education.

Southwest Mavericks

At Southwest, both students and staff work incredibly hard, are driven to improve, and take pride in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. We believe that social justice can be achieved through education and that the process is incredibly demanding and outrageously fun. Because of our culture of feedback, we’re able to get closer and closer to our goal of becoming the best possible version of ourselves. Class of 2027, mark your calendars! 🎓 Seniors will take the SAT or TSIA2 at school on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Students worked with their college counselors to determine which assessment they’ll take so no sign-up is needed. Seniors will be automatically registered for their recommended test.

Demonstrating college readiness can help students enter college-level courses and avoid remedial coursework, saving time and money.

Families, help your senior arrive ready to test on Oct. 8 by planning for a full day at school. Please avoid early pickups, and remember that campuses will be closed to visitors during testing.

Your student’s future doesn’t start senior year. At YES Prep, we begin building the foundation early. 🎓

Students can begin their journey at a YES Prep elementary school and continue into our secondary schools, creating a pathway that grows with them. As they get older, students receive personalized college advising, explore careers through hands-on experiences and have opportunities to earn college credit before graduation.

It’s an intentional approach designed to help students discover what’s possible and prepare for what comes next.

Applications for the 2027–28 school year open next week, October 1.
